My sister and I came here for lunch and we were not disappointed. My sister and I shared grandma Jo's lumpia, and that was pretty good. Then I had the French onion soup which is one of the best I've had. The meatloaf here is really tender and juicy and flavorful. I also had my sisters ham and cheese omelette with brussels sprouts and that was really good too.

Definitely will return! What a great find. Not your typical diner. It has excellent food and wine, excellent service. And no additional hidden service charge. We had dinner, but everything on the menu looked so good that we want to try breakfast next.

Honestly, Jo's is a 4.5, so I rounded up. The BEST sausage gravy biscuits in San Diego (downhill alert for Hob Nob). The biscuits were small, tender, fully cooked and good enough to eat plain. Jo's solved the "why does sausage in sausage gravy taste overcooked?". The gravy is a creamy white sauce topped with scallions and freshly cooked, flavorful sausage. Seriously good - MUCH better than Sunnyboy biscuits. The stuffed French toast was really stuffed - it didn't need syrup. I love meatloaf so I ordered Jo's version. I would say it was a 4/5 - one of the best in San Diego but a bit too dark and heavy for me. I prefer a fluffier meatloaf. That said, it wasn't greasy at all. Also, the green beans were surprisingly good - as in, we were fighting over them. Finally the short rib benedict. The short ribs were a 5 - not fatty but super tender and meaty. Too bad the hollandaise sauce tasted like it was made from a mix. I don't think it was bc Jo's diner doesn't do mixed...but I ended up pushing it off the short ribs and I LOVE hollandaise so... Also, the coffee was disappointing. But some great dishes and also wonderful wonderful service rounds up the 4.5 to a 5

So we try to hit as many Triple D places as possible, especially when we travel. We came down for the Reign game and as this place is only 2.5 miles from our hotel and the Pechanga Arena, it was an easy choice. Ysa had the Chicken Pesto sandwich which she really enjoyed. I had the meatloaf (as did Guy) with garlic mashed and green beans, and a side of Mac and Cheese. The meatloaf was juicy and very good as were the potatoes and beans. The Mac and Cheese was the way I make it at home and was delicious! I'm glad we came and will be back the next time we get to SD

Came here during an emergency. Aka we didn't want to cook and we were getting hangry and this was the only place that was opened that looked appetizing that wasn't a burger place. Came in and we were one of two parties in there. Five people total. Which made the service super quick. The kitchen had just closed but they decided to make one last meal for us which was nice. I had the fried fish and my partner had the Short Rib French dip. My fish and chips were great. The coleslaw was actually really good. Usually at these types of places it's nauseating. So compliments to the chef. The French dip wasn't as great unfortunately. That resembled more like diner food. It was a straight forward place. I liked the yellow walls and the big windows that let in a lot of light. The wait staff makes the place brighter with their smile and demeanor. Other diners are 2 or maybe 3 stars. And so it's nice to find a four star place.

Came here after being on a diner binge. This place was on the food network so I was excited to give this place a try. Parking is very easy in Mission Hills. We were seated promptly. Service was very good. I ordered their suggested meatloaf, which was very flavorful. My only gripe with this place, was that the portions didn't feel much like a diner. I left feeling hungry.

A neat little dinner in the middle of Mission Hills offering delightfully not so traditional diner food. They have a wide selection of breakfast/brunch items to salads and dinner platters. I had their cinnamon buttermilk pancakes and it was one of the best pancakes I had. While its size might be smaller than what you would have at other diners, you can taste the quality here. The batter is super smooth and I don't know how to describe it, almost a liquidity fluid was to the pancake when you eat it. You can't go wrong pairing it with some sausage and eggs! Our server was really nice and the whole dining experience was lovely. The diner offers parking at the back of the restaurant, which is convenient considering the location where it's all metered parking.

Came in for breakfast on a Wednesday and there wasn't a wait. Our server was attentive and pleasant. I didn't know this place was on diners and drives but apparently it was. Was it worthy of being on that show? You bet it was! Here's what I had: French toast and eggs- Brioche heaven! The strawberry was fresh and the bread was oh-so tasty! 5 of 5 stars! Eggs Benedict- Extremely good! The eggs were perfect and the potatoes are AMazing! 5 of 5 stars! Service- on point from beginning to end. 5 of 5 stars! I have zero complaints and I'm coming back for sure.

Sean was our server & was on top of it- Super friendly, fast, & attentive. What makes this place 5 stars is the FOOD!! This is one of those hole in the wall spots that has the most amazing food!! So fresh, tasty, and delicious!! The flavors, the options, the spices! Hands down the best Mac & cheese you will ever have in the city.. it's so cheesy and you can taste the various cheeses! Also, the stuffed French toast is a close runner up. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu really. This is our new breakfast spot!
